Slight Revision of New Decade Plans

Based on the less than stellar reception of IKD at Tapread, I've made a snap decision and revision to my New Decade Plan.

I've decided to dedicate Original Music Makes (OMM) series to paperback releases via Amazon.

I've removed this series from all Read-as-Write story sharing sites (e.g. Webnovel, Tapread, Wattpad...).

This series will be revamped as a proper light novel, as originally intended.  I'll also eventually do the same for Seriphyn Knight.

As it's clear that the RaW readerbase isn't working for them. They fair better as traditional paperback where the story  is completed.

These books will be according to the raito noberu standard.

New Look I'm Kita Duran

I've finished doing a complete revision of I'm Kita Duran due to Createspace's merger with Amazon KDP. 

It was an opportunity to fix up the dodgy grammar and add in some supporting scenes that I thought up after the fact.  One addition was more of Saski's observation on Duran, when he was deciding whether our protagonist was a bad guy or not (falling in love in the process).  I may have became more automated toward the last chapter.  I think I've fixed up a lot of the grammar issues that people had noted in

With any reboot is a revised cover.  Here is the paperback cover going live in the next few days.   I've also added my Webnovel & Wattpad handles, since my work is likely to turn up to those sites first.  Just have to remember not to change my handle later on.

Hope it picks up interest this time around.  It's motivated me to kick off book number two and revise the plot.  I've decided to add a return character to the book a lot sooner.

Original Music Makes: Revolutionary

The push for Zaldizko has taken priority over the next volume in this series. Unfortunately, it will be a long time before I can work on and publish volume two.

In the mean time, I plan to release one-shot stories for events after volume one.  These can be read for free at Wattpad.

The central theme of the one-shots as per below:
Duran Kita is performing for the life of the Hotaka Music Club,  before a two thousand seated audience.   

He must win an overall place within the top ten of a prestigious Tokyo music competition or face dissolution of his infamous high school club. 

He's about to battle it out for the third round of the competition.

Happy Birthday Duran Kita

Today is the birthday I granted my fictional friend :).  I can't believe it has been almost two years since I released Duran's story in I'm Kita Duran.  Looking back, I'm quite proud of myself for actually finishing something.

Writing a story is never any easy journey for me. As I'm constantly riddled with distractions, interference, troubles and all sorts of burdens that real life can bring.   I'm not so fortunate that I can make creative writing my living. However, I have been given opportunities to be a writer in some other shape and form with business process writing.

Anyway, I really like writing Original Music Makes and I can't wait to dedicate some time to finish off volume two.

Volume two ended up a far more dramatic and serious story compared to the first. Since the music club has to prove their worth in order to continue its exist. The club members find themselves going to Tokyo during their summer break to compete in an esteem music competition.  Here, they have to face some of their demons as they compete against each other.

More of Duran's past is revisited. Along with a side story of Saski and Kobori's relationship before Kobori's untimely passing.

I've only managed to complete the outline draft. Since I've had to spend time to complete volume one of Seriphyn Knight, it'll be a while before this volume is released. Writing is an extremely slow task for me. 

So I guess I better get back to it.

Relifting Original Music Makes for 2017

The luxury of being an unknown and unpopular self-published writer of a little to not-known series is the ability to freely revise the stories and characters.

I say being "unpopular", "unknown" and "not-known" in a positive sense.  As I feel I have freedom to express the stories and characters as much as I want until I'm completely content of the outcome.

Having said this, there won't be any changes to what has been published to date. If anything, I'll be adding more unique attributes to them in the next volume "Hotaka Music Club".   And, I'm way behind schedule to completing this volume.  Like any piece of art in the making and where the artist is unhappy with the output to date.  I'll keep revising the story and characters until I feel everything works. This is the pro of being a co-contributor/indie author. The deadlines are my own.

The start of the series change in direction are the book covers.  I've republished versions of I'm Kita Duran and Saving Star with new looks.

I'm aiming for Original Music Makes to be more about slice-of-life situations with exceptional or extraordinary situations.   Of course it will always have Duran as the center but he might not always be the protagonist.  It will have different same-sex relationship challenges. Especially, as the characters mature toward adulthood.  Duran is not the only one in a same-sex relationship in HMC.

Having said this,  I'll continue the pace and flow of the story as written online.  However, it's likely the story will alter dramatically once it's published.

Original Music Makes Story Expands

Now that I've knocked out one side story out of the way.  I'll be spending time on a few others that aren't exactly related to the main story but supplements it.

Upcoming short, side, stories planned:

• Himeko and Mei in middle school, 
• Kou's relationship with a mysterious girl named Rin,
• Saski's 2nd year as a middle school student,
• Duran and Mori's brief stint in France,
• Fumio's involvement with a shady uncle who saves him,
• Aki's dream crush that turned sour,

Lots more to come from Dai'chi, Mei, Osamu and Hiro's lives.

Of course, the main story continues on Original-6's and Hotaka Music Club's developing legacy.

My mind is spinning as I start to see my plot maps unfold into something unreal.

Original Music Makes

Story Introduction

A coming of age story centred around Duran; a private high school student who has already experienced a dramatic life by the age of fifteen. He hopes for some peace by the time he reaches sixteen.

He restarts life in a new town and school. Right of the bat he stirs up the atmosphere in his high school by starting up a music club.  

Hotaka High School believes in preparing a future generation of doctors, lawyers, corporate executives and financial specialists.  It is the only school that does not have a music and art department.

Through persistence and a loop hole, Duran is able to set up a music club.  Through music, people are connected together and deep rooted feelings are revealed to shake up the hearts of the students and teachers at the school.   Duran, himself, is not immune and faces his troubled past head on.

Disclaimer and Advanced Apologises

I love manga and, especially, Shounen Ai stories.  Having read so many, I wanted to try my hand at writing one myself.  However, not being Japanese, this hasn't been an easy task for me. 

I've researched a lot about the culture in various media, and through reading many different manga genres. Even consulted with colleagues and students who are Japanese or advanced in their knowledge of the culture.  Some manga and stories are gracious enough to explain cultural aspects in great detail.  

Thanks to manga, I've come to love the ingenuity of the Japanese people and culture.  They believe in a good story no matter what boundaries are crossed.  So I hope my story falls in the same respect and seen as true to the culture as I am possible to achieve.

I bow low and sincerely apologise for any Japanese faux pas in advance.  Please forgive me if there are and do not hesitate to call these out to me.  I'll correct them quick smart.
