The Magikah - TapRead Contest Entry

I entered into TapRead's contest with an urban fantasy that revolves around a young woman/witch and her feline comrade who is a spirit of justice.

My expectations for achieving a rank, let alone win, in his contest is low. Since it hasn't done well in readership. I never really know how these things will go.

Regardless, this story is another WIP to add to the portfolio as I've always wanted to deliver a fantasy series with a badass female protagonist who is more than capable of saving the world and some. If TR wants it, I'll contract it to them.

In The Magikah, Elixa is a young adult witch who was raised under the care of a former mage warrior in a fictional city on Earth.  She becomes bound to a spirit of justice and finds herself involved in all sorts of situations.

I intend to carry this story out as long as it's read. It's that kind of story that it could go on for years since there's really no set fixed premise other than Elixa and Justice having to stick their noses into things, avoid being captured by a cat-human race, and do their best to reduce risks, dangers and not blow up the world by accident so to speak.

About the Cover

I created Elixa (what I could with resources I have) on my CGI software. I couldn't get her eyes and skin tone the correct coloring, but it will do for this version.  The hair and clothing I purchased.   The background pattern is stock images from Pixabay that modified and recreated to form the result.  All the fonts are public domain or free commercial-use licenses.

Hoping this one tick's fantasy supernatural boxes and attracts the YA demographic that I'm aiming for. Although, the chances are slim since TapRead is a poor fit for YA supernatural fantasy that isn't Asian based. I hope that my story could open a way for a new kind of fantasy for readers.

About the Story's Chances

I'll continue the story as a low priority. Along with all my other works in progress.

To Like A-Man: Next to Paperback Release

Now that The Fourth Zaldizko is out of the way, my focus for story completion is To Like A-Man.  A boys love (BL) story set in an ICT corporate environment.  The relationship focus is a love triangle, which threatens to impact an organization's surety.

I had originally intended for the story to be a light-hearted BL comedy, but when I began adding in the want/need elements for Adam a gritty development began to take shape.

I'll be working on a new TapRead cover to support the dramatic undertone of the story.

The ebook episodes and all other online versions have been removed.  TapRead will be the exclusive online publishing platform whilst the story is in progress.

New content will follow once I complete copy and proof check edits of the existing content. This is to make life easier for me when I take the story to paperback and also ensure stronger alignment to its three-act outline.
